ecoENERGY Grant Program Concluding March 31st, 2011

After more than ten years supporting this industry, the Government of Canada closed the ecoENERGY for Homes program to new entries as of last March 31, 2010. They are still providing grants for upgrades for everyone who had their first ecoENERGY evaluation less than 18 months ago. The Government of Ontario is still allowing new applicants into the Ontario Home Energy Savings Program, which appears headed for shutting down March 31st, 2011, unless certain lobby groups who benefit from grant programs get their way.
Here at Homesol, we feel grants are somewhat useful in limited doses, but not something we should depend on to really influence our pursuit of warmer, tighter, healthier, more comfortable houses. Winding down grant programs only means that homeowners are assuming responsibility for their own energy efficiency. Regardless of government (taxpayer) support, we believe what we offer in terms of energy analysis and diagnostics is always valuable, and the report we provide gives you the roadmap you need to plan for an energy-efficient future.
If you are still interested in pursuing a home evaluation for your own comfort, in chasing down that mystery air leak, in having an expert analyze your home's heat loss characteristics, we're here for you.
Homesol is a diversified energy-efficiency business that is not dependent upon any government program. We remain available to you to meet your home energy efficiency needs with or without grant programs. You can still book a consultation with Homesol today.
