Constructing the bubble greenhouse (12)
The 1,500 square foot Homesol Bubble Greenhouse uses soap bubbles to create a replaceable and removable layer that allows shading or insulation as needed. This layer prevents overheating by collecting and storing excess solar gain, reduces night heat loss, and allows maximum light availability for optimum plant growth during short winter days. -
Enjoying the bubble greenhouse (12)
The completed greenhouse has been operating continuously since April 2002, producing crops of organic peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, edible flowers, herbs and salad greens year-round. -

To help the greenhouse function during the day, the solar energy is gathered in a heat sink. The liquid solar insulation and shading system eliminates the need for fossil-fuel heating or powered ventilation to maintain optimum growing conditions year round in any climate.
